The Eternal Play
TEASER :21 sec
Full length piece shown in exhibition only
Video Installation / 2020 / 9:10 min played in loop
Art Work / Video Installation for the exhibition Between These Folded Walls, Utopia. The film shows the constant dance-like struggle of Shadi Golchin and a group of four dancers from the Gothenburg Dance Company. The women act as Shadi’s avatars, mirroring her psyche. Even though the piece is based on interviews with Shadi, it’s essence is universal; the movements express the inner struggle we have all experienced within our own mind – a mind that can turn from caring friend, in loving synch with our own movements, to opponent, coaxing, dragging, pushing, fighting us.

What do you hold close? Where is your secret place of belonging? If you had to leave everything behind and begin again – who would you be? Humanitarian tragedies keep unfolding, creating immense human suffering. But as the world around us is unravelling, have we stopped dreaming of another? Starring young women whose lives have been affected by forced migration, this film is about the loss of utopia and our ability to dream again.

Interruptions
Documentary / 2016 /21:45 min
Interruptions, explores the contemporary context of broken timelines, identity and personal histories. From the cultural and political interventions that have violated and shaped the indigenous Sámi culture, to the very personal ruptures of women, whose lives have been interrupted in one way or another. The project seeks to interrelate personal tremors with the political and cultural interruptions that still impact the Sámi identity today.

The Weather Diaries
Documentary / 2014 /20:40 min
This film takes you deep into the ingenuity of three island nations where common is the hug of isolation. The Weather Diaries is a prolific collaboration between Cooper & Gorfer and some of the most gifted designers from Greenland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands. Instead of seasonal trends, it explores the inspiration of creative minds, probes links to cultural identity, and scrutinizes the impact of the inescapable physicality of nature and weather. In this film, we meet the artists and designers.
